T-Walk integrated tactile paving sytstem was designed according to ISO/FDIS 23599 standard norm.
The special innovation of this system consists in providing the person with visual disabilities with both tactile and vocal information, where the service has been activated.
To ensure safety and autonomy of movement to people with visual impairment, the environment must be compatible with their orientation needs. In order move, blind and visually impaired people use some signals called "natural guides", they are particular environmental situations that allow them to orient in full autonomy. Examples of natural guides are a curb of the pavement perceivable with the feet or with the stick, or an acoustic signal of attention or a wall that delimits a space.
The tool that allows sensory accessibility to places and spaces for private and public access is instead the system of tactile indicators on the ground also known as "I.T.T.", as per the national laws of reference.
